About Cooking With Spite
Cooking With Spite started as a joke — and turned into a system.
After years of cooking dinner every night, the problem became clear:
it wasn’t the cooking that was exhausting — it was the deciding.
This brand is built around one idea:
Dinner doesn’t need to be impressive. It needs to happen.
Cooking With Spite is for people who:
Don’t love cooking
Don’t want complicated recipes
Don’t want to think about dinner all day
Just real food. Real systems. Real life.
Hi. I'm Denise.
I didn't write this book because I love cooking. I wrote it because I was tired of cookbooks written by people who clearly do.
This is for everyone who opens the fridge at 5 p.m. with zero inspiration and still manages to feed themselves without ordering takeout. That's the win. That's enough.
About
I’m a teacher, mom, and everyday cook who got tired of thinking about dinner.
I don’t love cooking, and I’m not trying to. I just needed a way to feed my family without overcomplicating it, overspending, or standing in the kitchen with no plan and no patience.
So I built a system.
Simple meals. Overlapping ingredients. Fewer decisions.
Dinner that actually gets made.
Cooking With Spite is for anyone who feels the same way — people who don’t love cooking, but still need to eat.
The System
You don't need 7 different meals. You need a repeatable structure that gets dinner on the table without starting from scratch every night.
Step 01
Pick 2 proteins
Choose proteins that can do double duty — chicken, ground meat, eggs. Buy enough to last the week.
Step 02
Use the same ingredients more than once
Same rice. Same onion. Same garlic. Repetition is not laziness — it's efficiency. Nobody's grading you..
WHAT A WEEK ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
This week's proteins: chicken + ground meat
Mon. Chicken + rice + broccoli + teriyaki = stir fry
Tue. Chicken + pasta + veggies + broth = chicken noodle soup
Wed. Ground meat + tortillas + toppings + salsa = tacos
Thu. Leftover ground meat + rice + bell peppers + taco seasoning = stuffed peppers
Fri. Leftover chicken + pasta + spinach + pesto = chicken pesto pasta
Step 03
Change the sauce or flavor
Chicken with teriyaki on Monday feels nothing like chicken with salsa on Wednesday. The sauce does the work.
Step 04
Eat the leftovers
Cook once, eat twice. Tomorrow's dinner is already handled. That's the whole point.
THE DINNER FORMULA
Four things. That's it.
Protein + Carb + Vegetable + Sauce = Dinner
Pick a few ingredients.
Use them more than once.
Change the flavor.
That’s it.

Dinner isn't going to make itself. Unfortunately.
